1/8/2008 Azteca at South Center  10  ZCCW Meeting Minutes 1/8/8 First order of business was a reminder that dues are due for 2008. Dues are $50 per year which includes a subscription to Z Sport magazine. Officers are in the process of looking to improve the web site. We want to purchase a program which is easy to use and offers an attractive web site. Any members who know of a good program or have expertise in that field are encouraged to come forth and share anything they can contribute to this effort. Duane is looking into furthering communications and sharing events with other clubs in the area. Some possibilities are Northwest Datsun and BC Registry and the Portland folks. Whirly Ball and Karting challenge are events that are coming up. Whirly Ball is going to be Jan 26th. Lots of fun combination driving bumper cars and basketball. Karting practice will be at Champs in Mill Creek close to BurgerMaster. Date to be decided but soon. Oregon site for karting uncertain there is an outdoor track but available only if weather is good. Mid March still to be decided. We are trying to get Peter Brock to come to a meeting or perhaps a weekend presentation of his racing highlights. The cost is $750 and we will ask Performance Nissan to fund. The car show will be held August 8th at Performance. We had a great turnout last year which we hope to continue. Marty is working on a new flyer and cards for handouts. We want to encourage all members to have some with them. When you see a zee handout a flyer and a card as we would like to increase our membership. Put them in a plastic bag and tuck under a windshield wiper.
11/13/2007 Performance Nissan  10  ZCCW Minutes of the Meeting for Nov. 13 2007 The meeting was held at our sponsor – Performance Nissan. Duane called the meeting to order at 1900. First order of business was to remind everyone that elections are being held – please vote. Go to the ZCCW website and you will find a link to place your vote. Roger Svoboda is unopposed for Secretary. There are two nominees for Vice President – Mark Hostetler and Marty Molloy. The Leavenworth trip was reported on by Janene. Nice weather, great time at Toscani Winery. Zcar Care Day was well attended. Members found out new things about the underside of their Z’s. Christmas Party will be Dec 8th at Motorworks in Bellevue. It will be a potluck members have been asked via email to specify food that they will bring. Bring chairs they are usually in short supply. Gifts are to be under $20 and tasteful (something you wouldn’t mind bringing home). Should be an Xbox or two to race with. January meeting place to be deteremined Marty is working on that. Whirly Ball (said to be great fund by those who have been there) will be Jan 26 at 1300. An email has been sent requesting a response as to who will be there. Bill Keene will host an Around the Sound drive in July Marty is working on an Around the Penninsula in June We will have another Detail Day at Griots on July 19th. Good tips on keeping the Z looking good. NW Datsun Enthusiasts have expressed interest in having joint functions with us. We would invite them to our things and vice versa. They have a Christmas Party on Jan 16th. They do some autocross things that we don’t so should be an interesting mix. Trying to find out if we can get the track at Meeting of the Mindz.
10/9/2007 Mama Roma  13  ZCCW Meeting Minutes The meeting was held at Mama Roma in Kenmore on 10/9/07. Duane called the meeting to order at 1900 there were thirteen members present. Introductions were made. Barry gave us a description of his drive up to Snoqualmie Falls, Sultan and back again on Sept. 29th. Twas a fair day all in all. Some clouds, some sun some rain. It was a better day than predicted. As always a nice drive on some twisty back roads. Mountains not visible due to clouds. Lunch was in Sultan. We had seven cars on the drive. New business started with nominations for officers for upcoming two years for Vice President and Secretary. Roger Svoboda was nominated for Secretary and Ron Howard was nominated for Vice president. Upcoming drive to Janene’s cabin was detailed as where to meet and what the usual scenario is. It was on Oct. 13th. (Sorry minutes got a little behind on that). Z Car Care Day will be at Motorworks, Ltd. On November 3rd. You can come put your car on the rack and see the bottom. Doing maintenance is okay rack time will be apportioned by how many cars show up. Those not on the rack can kibbutz the ones who are looking up. If you aren’t familiar with some things on your car there are knowledgeable members on hand to give you a guided tour. (I can’t call them experts because they are not more than fifty miles from home and don’t own a briefcase). I have learned much from putting my cars up and having people show me things to beware of. Bring a folding chair. Next meeting is at Performance Nissan, our sponsor, the 13th of Nov. We’d like to have a nice turnout as they are nice enough to donate to the club plus give us discount on parts. Plus free pizza. Christmas party at Motorworks, Ltd. (bring a folding chair) on 8 December. Gifts under $20 NO CAR PARTS. Try to make the gifts tasteful something you wouldn’t mind giving your mother or other esteemed family member. 7/12/2007 XXX Rootbeer Issaquah  18  ZCCW Meeting Minutes 10 July 2007 The meeting was held at XXX in Issaquah. We started out with 2 Z’s and fifteen Miatas but by the end of the evening the Z’s outnumbered the Miatas. We wound up with 16 to 17 cars. We started out with introductions as there were several folks there who hadn’t been around before. Two outstanding cars were both 280Z. One had been redone by a guy who had been driving it since he was sixteen. Good looking engine compartment, interior, exterior. Excellent piece of work. The other was a yellow 2+2 driven by a lady who has had it since it was new. She has maintained it in excellent condition. Unfortunately she feels she has to give it up as she can no longer cope with the lack of power steering. Its up for sale and I have her phone number if any one has an interest. We talked over the vintage car races and those who went all had a good time. Barry got second place for best car in his category. There was some dissatisfaction with the event promoter as we paid for ten slots and on Saturday they weren’t able to provide them. Janene is going to hassle them about this. I enjoyed and recommend to all for next year. We are having a drive on this coming Saturday the fourteenth in memorium Mary Pritchett who has been a member and helped with logo design etc. Check your email for details. It will be a south end drive. Griot’s Garage Detail Day is coming up on the 28th. Come on by and find out about their products and get some detailing tips. There is an Applebee’s Car Show in Vancouver WA on the fourth. Some of the folks that come to MOTM have invited us to come on down. ca_girl@peoplepc.com or call me at 360-608-8825. Call or email for further information. Performance Nissan is having a BBQ and we are having a car show there on the twelfth. Shine up your ride and lets show off our cars to the public. Remember Performance is our sponsor. (and free hot dogs). Starts at 1000 and voting for best car will be announced at noon. MOTM coming up. We do have our campsite even tho they forgot us. Aug 16-19 at Jefferson County fairgrounds. $20 per tent per night fee. Car show on Saturday. Always fun do come even if just for the day. Folks come from Canada and Oregon. Remember the next meeting is north end at the Burgermaster on Bothell Everett Hwy. Between Thrashers corner and Mill Creek. Always plenty of room to show off our cars there. And the burgers ain’t bad.
4/10/2007 Performance Nissan  14  ZCCW MEETING MINUTES APRIL 10, 2007 The meeting was held at Performance Nissan (our sponsor). Attendance was taken and introductions were made as there were several new people at the meeting. Marty gave a rundown on dyno day. There was a good turnout and even tho the day was rainy a good time was had. BBQ was there and some awesome machinery. Marty will forward list of members who attended to Janene for point credit. Ken described the South End drive that he arranged. 11 cars were there. Visited the capitol in Olympia. Everyone wound up at Ron’s house for a very nice BBQ. Thanks to Ron for hosting the eating portion of the drive. Ken gave roster to Janene for points. It was decided that Ken would post a club wide email for members to try out the new forum portion of the website. Zccw.org/forum will get you there. Make a user id and password to get on the site. Membership drive was discussed. Some ideas are to publish the flyer that is made up and distribute to members. Whenever you see a Z without the club insignia in the window – put a flyer on it. Another thought was a free membership to anyone who buys a Z at Performance. Janene will liaise with Performance to have a July event with them at the lot. They have asked us to do something like this. Probably clear the lot show off our cars talk to customers eat hot dogs. Vintage car races June 29 thru July 3. $40 to get in the corral. We have 10 tickets available. Roger Sawyer, the Mullens, Barry & spouse, Ken and Chuck all said they will go. So there are 3 tickets left. Winery tour coming up April 21. We meet at Monroe 0800. BYO lunch we will have at a winery. Pot luck at Janene’s cabin for those interested with card playing to follow. Others may make arrangements as desired in Leavenworth or wherever. Sunday more wineries bring your own lunch again. May meeting is at Dick’s Drivein on Lake City Way. Canby OR Datsun drive for those interested is June 9-10 Birch Bay drive is June 26 Meeting of MindZ is Aug 16-18. Jefferson County Fairgrounds Port Townsend.
3/13/2007 Round Table Pizza Bellevue  12  ZCCW Members Meeting 3-13-07 Meeting was opened with introduction of all present. A sign up sheet was passed around for all to sign. The LeMay Museum trip was discussed for those he weren’t able to make it. WE WON THE KARTING TROPHY. Discussion of where to keep the trophy either Performance Nissan or Motorworks. Duane had it on display for the meeting. Concensus was that unless Performance had a place to display it then we should have Duane keep it at Motorworks. Asked for suggestions from members on ways to get more people active at meetings and events. The Portland club had more than twice the turnout than we did and they had to come 200 miles. A $100 sponsorship to the LeMay Musuem was proposed and voted on. It passed unanimously. This will give the club 2 passes to the museum which can be used by members as requested. Also there is a drive of some sort need more details. Vintage races were discussed for those unfamiliar with the event. Passes will be purchased by club and then members will buy from club who wish to attend. Roger Sawyer and Barry both indicated they would go for sure. Marty has the newsletter on the new forum website. He requested pictures. E mail them to Marty. marty@groovemerchant.org Any technical articles written by members and used in the newsletter will be given member reward points. Marty talked about Dyno Day. Need 15 users or more to get price of $40 per run. Details on the web site. Members can look at new website ZCCW.org/forum. Ken and Michelle will host a south end drive on the 31st. It will end at Ron Howard’s house for a barbecue (barring rain like last year) Roger will look at tide table and propose a date for the Whidbey Island drive. April Wine tasting tour at Leavenworth was discussed. Leave from Monroe –everyone gas up first. Potluck at Janene’s or those who wish can have dinner in town.
1/7/2007 The Keg in Lynnwood  Officers Meeting Minutes 7 January 2007 Present: Duane, Roger, Janene, Ken plus two significant others Janene told Duane he had to read the by-laws to find out his duties. We need a minimum of 10 people to make it work. Ken said have a go kart practice day on the 24th so we can stomp them Portland folks. The Portland Challenge Race is 3/10. This needs to be put on the calendar. Duane will ask Gregg to set up the Vintage Car Race event. Need to come up with a tiebreaker for the point award system as there were two ties this year. Several suggestions were made but none adopted Wine tour should go 4/21-22 to Chelan Leavenworth area. Duane will get winery list together. Janene stated that those that want could stay at her cabin on the river. Ken suggested Columbia River drive maybe in conjunction with the Portland gang. We should send out an email query to the members to see what interest there is in that. Marty will be asked to set up the Dyno Day event by Duane. Car Care Day will be in September. 8/9/2005 Bugermaster - Everett  25

This was a fabulous night for a meeting. The weather could not have been better.

The turnout was OUTSTANDING!! Thanks for all that attended.

The location was perfect too. We were all able to park together and there was a lot of car and foot traffic looking at our Z's.

Jason went over the upcoming events including the Meeting of the MindZ. We are going to have another drive on Widbey Island probably in early September. We are also planning a drive to the Yakima valley for wine tasting in late September.

Marty talked about trying to get another track day planned in October. The one planned for August was a bust due to lack of committment.

Janane had another give-away. This time all items were non-car related. Thanks again Janene! You are the best!
